A Perfectly Princess Day at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Last week we planned out what a perfect day would look like at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom for a pirate fan. This week let’s talk about princesses!

For a truly special princess day, the little ones must dress the part. I suggest an early morning appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique located where else, in Cinderella’s Castle! Princesses can choose from The Crown Package (starting at $59.95) which includes hairstyling, shimmering make-up, a face gem, princess sash and tote and nail polish all the way up to the The Castle Package (starting at $194.95) which includes everything in the Crown package plus a costume and accessories and five printed photos! There is even a package for small princes, the $19.95 Knight package featuring hairstyling with gel and a sword and shield.

After Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, head to Enchanted Tales with Belle where you can become part of the story. Belle asks for helpers to join her in acting out her story, so go be part of the fun! After the play, the little actors and actresses have a chance to meet with Belle.

After a busy morning, princesses are probably getting hungry! Hopefully you (with the help of a travel agent, perhaps!) have secured an advanced dining reservation at Cinderella’s Royal Table. One of the most popular (if not the most popular) dining establishment at Disney World, advance reservations are imperative. Dining with the Disney princesses is such a special experience for any princess, big or small! Princesses are subject to change but have featured Cinderella (of course! you even have your photo taken with her before the meal), Ariel, Snow White, Aurora, Belle and more.

If you didn’t get to meet enough princesses at lunch, there are there are plenty of other places in the Magic Kingdom for you to meet more! Here is a list of the princesses and their location (subject to change):

Cinderella & Rapunzel, Elsa & Anna all meet at Princess FairyTale Hall

Sleeping Beauty meets near City Hall

Jasmine (with Aladdin) meets near The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Merida meets near Fairytale Garden

Be sure to check out the Times Guide, since not all of the princesses meet all day long.

Lastly, don’t forget to meet Ariel in her grotto, then check out her Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid ride!

After all those character meets you may be ready for dinner. Our suggestion is Be Our Guest restaurant. No, you can’t meet Belle here, but the setting is absolutely fit for a princess and the food is delicious!

Maybe after dinner you’ll be headed back to your Port Orleans Riverside Royal Guest room, the perfect accommodations for a perfectly princess vacation 🙂

Which Resort Is Right For Me? Princess Edition

When planning a Disney vacation it’s important to find the resort that fits your needs and the needs of your family.  That’s why I’m putting together a series of posts that help you decide which resort is right for you.

If you’re like me, you fancy yourself a Disney Princess, or maybe you have a little one in your life who has princess-like qualities. You might consider these resorts for your next trip:

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort – Deluxe

You can feel like a true princess in these elegant surroundings located a short boat ride or monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom.  Most rooms have two queen beds and a daybed.  Plus, if you make reservations at 1900 Park Fare located on site, you can even have a meal with Cinderella without leaving your resort!  For the littlest royals, there’s an Alice in Wonderland themed splash pad in the pool area.

Port Orleans Riverside Royal Guest Room – Moderate

If you’re a fan of Princess Tiana, you definitely want to stay in this room outfitted with some amazing “princessy” touches.  The centerpiece of this room is the light up LED headboard above each of the queen sized beds.  With intricate carvings and plush carpets and even gold faucets shaped like the Genie’s lamp, your princess will feel pampered and right at home.

Art of Animation Little Mermaid room – Value

If your princess is more at home under the sea, you’ll definitely feel like part of this world. Fans of Ariel will adore the the attention to detail, like the seashell headboards, Prince Eric artwork, and the sheet music to Under The Sea embedded on the table.  Rooms include either two double beds or one king bed.  This resort includes the largest resort pool on Disney property.  There are even speakers so you can listen to music under water!

As always, one of the Dole Whipped team would be delighted to help you plan any aspect of your vacation.  You can reach us at dolewhipped @ gmail.com.

Pirate and Princess Summer-Part 2

I’ve already covered Pirates here, now for the little (or grown) Princess in your life there are plenty of options too!

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique-located in the Magic Kingdom and at Downtown Disney your little princess or prince can enjoy a makeover at an addition cost. These reservations go quickly so make them early!

Or if you want to be a Pirate Princess or Mermaid you can check out Pirates League over by Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

Meet Princesses- there are Anna and Elsa from Frozen, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Merida, Rapunzel, Ariel and Tiana, in the Magic Kingdom. You should pick up a Times Guide to check the exact location and times of the meets.  You can also catch some princesses in the new Festival of Fantasy Parade.

In Epcot you can meet Jasmine, Aurora, Snow White, Mulan, and Belle (in her blue dress) in World Showcase.

In Hollywood Studios you can meet Sofia the First. During the summer of 2014 you’ll be able to see Anna and Elsa from Frozen too!

Animal Kingdom has one princess meet and greet, Pocahontas!

For Princess meals, you can meet a variety of princesses at Cinderella’s Royal Table in Magic Kingdom, Akershus in Epcot and at 1900 Park Fare dinner you can meet Cinderella, Prince Charming and her stepmother and sisters. If you are looking to catch your favorite princess in a show you can watch Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage, and Disney Junior Live on Stage in Hollywood Studios.

If you want to have an interactive show and meet you should not miss Enchanted Tales with Belle!

For attractions there is Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride both in the Magic Kingdom.

And if you want to stay in the magic for your entire visit there are the Royal Rooms at the Port Orleans Riverside resort.  The rooms offer touches from many of the princesses and features a very special headboard.

What is your favorite Princess adventure or attraction?

Meeting Anna and Elsa at Fairytale Princess Hall

IMG_0718Everyone knows that the Frozen ladies are THE hot thing right now, and we were lucky enough to get to meet them on our recent trip.  The standby wait time when we arrived for our Fast Pass reservation was just over 3 hours.  THREE HOURS.  The line was chock full of little girls just itching to meet their favorite princess and queen and I was ever so thankful that I nabbed a Fast Pass for my little one!!!  We were in and out in less than 20 minutes, a good 5 of which was spent interacting with the Frozen girls and Aurora (the visiting princess with Anna & Elsa that day).  At press time, the ladies now have the arena to themselves and there is no longer a “visiting princess” featured with them.

The characters interacted beautifully with one another, and with my daughter.  She was full entranced by Elsa’s beautiful train and thoroughly enjoyed the fuss they made over her shirt.  Overall, this was definitely a highlight of our trip but I would certainly recommend a Fast Pass for this meet & greet.  You won’t find this die-hard Disney fan waiting in a 3 hour line for much of anything!
