What’s New At The Disney Store?

I don’t know about where you live, but there’s no Disney store local to me. We went on a road trip last week and I made my family stop off to check out the Disney outlet on our way. Here’s some of the cool stuff they had!
If you have a Sofia The First fan, they had plenty of things to choose from!

Headed to the beach or pool this summer? They have swimsuits and beach towels on sale in various prints for boys and girls!

Most of this is available via their website, but it’s fun to see things in person! Definitely gets you in the mood to plan a Disney trip!

Hollywood & Vine – Disney Jr.s Play ‘n Dine

IMG_0563

I was recently able to dine at Hollywood & Vine for breakfast with my 2-year-old daughter.  She was very excited to meet Doc McStuffins and Sofia the First, two of the newer characters featured at this meal.  Jake, from Jake & The Neverland Pirates and Handy Manny also appear at this meal, making it great for both boys & girls!  I know one of the most common complaints I hear is that Disney needs more dining selections that appeal to boys, so this one is really great for the younger lads in your group!

IMG_0556I was impressed to see complimentary iced lemon water offered outside the restaurant in the patio area where you wait for your reservation.  It was very hot outside, and the refreshing drink was much appreciated.  We didn’t wait long for our table, however, about 5 minutes.  Upon entering the restaurant, my daughter spotted Jake right away and was very excited.  Shortly after being seated, our waitress took our drink order and invited us to help ourselves to the buffet.  Before we could head that way, Jake made a stop at our table, to the delight of my daughter.  After a few pictures and a high five from Jake, we headed to the buffet.

The meal was good and included all of your standard breakfast favorites.  My daughter enjoyed Mickey waffles, fresh fruit, tater tots (that I wouldn’t typically allow her to eat for breakfast) and chocolate milk.  I had a nice spread that included sausage gravy over a biscuit, cheese grits, breakfast potato casserole, and a small blueberry muffin, as well as much needed coffee.  All of the items I sampled were tasty and definitely worth the price of the meal ($24.99 for an adult; my daughter was free of charge since she is under 3.)  During our meal, Handy Manny dropped by our table for a couple of quick pictures.  My daughter wasn’t very interested in Manny, but the visit was still enjoyable.

IMG_0573We did wait quite some time to see Doc & Sofia.  We had finished our breakfast and waited about 15 minutes for both of them to come around.  My daughter was dressed in a Doc McStuffins themed outfit and got lots of fuss from Doc over her clothes.  Sofia was a hit as well.

Overall, I would say this meal was great.  We enjoyed the food and loved the character interaction as well.  Have you dined at Hollywood & Vine since the new characters arrived?  What did you think?

Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine

Hollywood and Vine is a large buffet-style restaurant with an art-deco theme.  If you have a Disney Junior fan, this is THE place to be. Not only do some of the most popular Disney Junior stars visit your tables, there is also singing and dancing to all the Disney Junior songs like the Hotdog Dance and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme song. It truly is a preschooler’s dream come true.

Breakfast Buffet Menu
(items are subject to change)

  • Mickey waffles with toppings
  • Pancakes
  • Egg casserole and/or hash brown casserole
  • Scrambled eggs
  • Frittatas
  • Tater tots
  • Breakfast meats
  • Pastries
  • Fresh fruit
  • Yogurt
  • Sausage gravy and biscuits
  • Cheddar grits

The food here was phenomenal. All of it was fresh and there was a great variety of breakfast foods to try.

Gluten-free options from the buffet: fresh fruit, cheddar grits, Mexican egg casserole, tater tots, sausage. There were not any gluten-free Mickey waffles, but there was plenty here available for those who suffer from a gluten allergy. My favorite two items were the egg casserole and the grits: they were different options and tasted great! I rank this as one of my absolute favorite gluten-free meals at Disney World.

Characters

At this meal the Disney Junior characters participate in the singing and the dancing and they also visit your table. When we visited we met Jake, Handy Manny, Agent Oso and June from Little Einsteins. Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins have replaced Agent Oso and June. The characters here were so much fun and my son had a fantastic time playing with them.

In Conclusion
As long as Anthony is a Disney Junior fan, we will make this character meal a must-do. The food was different and tasty and the characters are just perfect for a toddler. I cannot wait until our next visit when Sofia and Doc McStuffins are there.
